Drive-in steel pallet racks, also known as Drive-Through Shelving, offer high-density storage with excellent space efficiency. Drive-In or Double-Access Systems, also referred to as Drive-Through Racking, consist of continuous lanes of racks with a single load and retrieval aisle. Loading and unloading are performed using counterbalance or reach trucks that drive down each lane into the racks.

Description of Warehouse Storage Drive-In/Through Rack

Drive-in racking, also known as corridor-type racking, features a composite structure with specialized high-intensity drive-in brackets and high-strength drive-in beams. The frames are secured to the top beams using bolts and nuts.

The depth of single-sided drive-in racking, which is installed against a wall, should not exceed 9 pallet positions. For double-sided drive-in racks, the depth should be less than 15 pallet positions to ensure the forklifts' loading efficiency and the racks' stability.

It is advisable to design drive-in racks to be lower than 11,000mm due to their relatively poor stability, which is the weakest aspect compared to other racking systems.

Drive-in racks should be equipped with back and top cross beams to enhance rack stability.

This type of racking is densely arranged, maximizing the use of storage space. It allows for both "first in, first out" and "first in, last out" inventory management, making it suitable for storing large quantities of a few types of goods.

It is widely used in the milk and beverage industries and is also favored by cold storage facilities.
