Industrial Custom Metal 4 Way Iron Pallet
details
Two-way pallets are designed to be lifted by the deckboards. The standard 48x40 North American pallet, also known as the GMA pallet, features stringers that are 48 inches long and deckboards that are 40 inches wide. It was standardized by the Grocery Manufacturers Association.
A standard wooden pallet, measuring 48 inches by 40 inches by 6 inches (122 cm by 102 cm by 15 cm), has a static load-bearing capacity of 3 short tons (2.7 long tons; 2.7 metric tons) and a dynamic capacity of 1 short ton (0.89 long tons; 0.91 metric tons). It typically weighs between 33 to 48 pounds (15 to 22 kilograms). Lightweight plastic pallets can weigh as little as 3 to 15 pounds (1.4 to 6.8 kilograms), whereas heavier models may reach up to 30 pounds (14 kilograms).
Standard GMA pallets can support up to 460 pounds (210 kilograms). GMA pallets usually weigh 37 pounds (17 kilograms) and stand 6 1⁄2 inches (170 millimeters) tall. Their deck boards are 3 1⁄4 inches (83 millimeters) wide and 5⁄16 inch (7.9 millimeters) thick each. Other pallet dimensions have varying weight capacities.
A pallet is a flat transport structure that provides stable support for goods while they are being lifted by a forklift, pallet jack, front loader, jacking device, or erect crane. It serves as the structural foundation for a unit load, enhancing handling and storage efficiency. Goods or shipping containers are frequently placed on a pallet and secured with strapping, stretch wrap, or shrink wrap before being shipped.
Pallets facilitate the stacking, storing, protecting, and transporting of materials. They are used in conjunction with pallet handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, or conveyors. They are also utilized in racking or bulk storage and are positioned within transport vehicles.
